Reel Seats
Graphite is becoming a favored material of choice not only for blanks, but also for reel seats in many fishing rod applications. Your choice of reel seat is important from both an asthetic and quality point of view. All good custom rods deserve hiqh quality seets that are made of solid construction and can withstand a lot of abuse.
Both Fuji and Pacific Bay offer a wide range of reel seat models for whatever type of rod you are building. New from Fuji is the DPS series, a lighter AND stronger seat than the older FPSD series. The uniform hood design allows for more comfort when gripping the handle of a trigger seat model, and the "power joint construction" eliminates the separation of the hood from the nut, a problem with other reel seats. These seats are available in both trigger and spinning models. Skeleton reel seats are available from both Fuji and Pacific Bay for ultra light rods.
For heavier rods, there are the heavy duty models with aluminum machined hoods, thicker walls and heavy duty nuts.
Fly reel seats are also available in a variety of choices, including graphite. Struble offer beautiful reel seat models with finished wooden inserts, with your choice of aluminum or nickle silver hardware.
